Ajk Studio

Arabella creates in their studio in Fitzroy, loved by her best friend Teacup and their two cats Ophelia and Dusty. Her work often includes wobbly self portraits, delightfully grumpy cats and ornate patterns to process memories and memorialise joy. Existence as a Queer and Disabled individual is isolating and often confronting but Arabella's artwork is a way for her to meaningfully connect with others and invite them in. Paint scraps, medication blister packs and other offcuts of living are encased in epoxy resin to make playful jewellery and decor. Each purchase supports Arabella's medical costs, their art practice and donates to other meaningful causes.
